Los investigadores Agnès Gruart i Massó, Noelia Madroñal y José María Delgado García, de la División de Neurociencias de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) de Sevilla, publicaron ayer en "Journal of Neuroscience" un estudio que demuestra, en animales vivos, cómo se almacena la memoria.
Este trabajo continúa el estudio publicado en enero del 2006 en la misma revista por Agnès Gruart i Massó, José María Delgado García y la investigadora del Hospital Ramón y Cajal de Madrid María Dolores Muñoz, que fue destacado por la revista "Science" como uno de los diez descubrimientos del año.
La Universidad recuerda que ya Ramón y Cajal intuía en sus investigaciones que los sitios donde contactan unas células nerviosas con otras (denominados sinapsis) es donde ocurren los cambios en la fisiología cerebral que acompañan los procesos de aprendizaje y memoria.
